Ängsbacka
Ängsbacka is a community, course and festival center for a variety of open spiritual paths and every day living connected to our hearts. Depending on your experience and how much time you wish to spend at Ängsbacka we will find a good exchange. If you only visit for a short time during the summer, there is a regular volunteer program with a fee covering some basic costs, cause you also receive access to all the festival- and preparationcamp concerts & workshops!
Festivals
There will be a full festival summer at Ängsbacka during June and July 2010, filled with a diversity of workshops to spice up our lives and remind us of our true longings and directions. The festivals at Ängsbacka attract thousands of people, from all around the world each year, who meet and inspire each other to celebrate life, grow in awareness, connect to our life intentions, relax together and create the world we long for!
Camps
To pimp the festivals and to pimp our lives, we have the splendid opportunity to come as volunteers to share even more time, co-creation and togetherness at Ängsbacka.
You are invited to take part in the preparation of the festivals and feeling how the atmosphere and energy builds up day by day. Your presence will add significantly to the quality of the festivals!
Making it happen
Ängsbacka’s festivals could not happen if it wasn’t for the incredible help from a large number of volunteers that work to build the festivals together with our all-year-round staff. The volunteer camp starts in early June and goes on until end of July. It is a time of much fun, friendship, community, playfulness, new experiences and of course work.
Volunteer work
As a volunteer you work in a specific work area according to the needs, and your experience and wishes. You work in a team according to your group schedule, planned by your group coordinator, you join volunteer gatherings and sharings every day and spend the rest of your time experiencing the festival program, chilling with friends and letting yourself be engulfed in the sky , forests and lakes surrounding Ängsbacka.
You will work 6 hours a day with 2 days off per week and have plenty of time to participate in other activities, such as meditations, yoga, open stage and a large variety of workshops. You dedicate your time and commitment, pay parts of the basic expenses for food and accommodation, and receive access to all the festival and camp workshops, concerts etc, splendid vegetarian buffet, housing, coaching – and the time of your life!
Some people say volunteering during the summer is the best festival of them all…!
Volunteering is for you who long to share yourself, give your gifts, create festivals and inspire yourself and others to openness, friendship and love. You will experience many feelings, thoughts and theories. You will feel happiness, inspiration, anger and sadness. You will give up, give all you have got, and feel part of a bigger organic entity which creates something fantastic together.
Magically, all this is a high on life experience – drugs and alcohol not allowed.

The Volunteer Camps – Come meet & melt, enjoy & expand with us!
As a volunteer you are at Ängsbacka before and after the actual festivals take place. This is called the camp period. By contributing to the flowering festivals you get a natural place and bonding with your volunteer friends as you build the festival and the festival energy together, welcome the guests as they arrive, celebrate together and gather the practical parts and the energy when the festival is over! During the camp periods a juicy volunteer program is offered, with workshops, meditations, dance and surprises.
Volunteering at Ängsbacka is an opportunity for us to fall into life, to create the things we love the most, to serve from our heart, to challenge ourselves to combine relaxation, fun, simplicity and clarity, as well as intensity and efficiency in our work. To create an atmosphere for many people to share, and see how it all comes spontaneously as we remind each other to connect to the juiciness always present within.
Dedicate:
- Six hours of ”working meditation” 5 days per week during Camps & Festivals + common morning meetings, sharings etc. This makes the festival possible, we arrange all its practicalities, at the same time we explore our experiences and challenges in working, and enjoy the bonding cocreation and friendships in our team.
- Volunteer fee; covering parts of the basic expenses of food and accommodation for your stay.
- Being a volunteer means committing to creating the festivals together. This means you commit to stay the whole time period agreed upon.
Receive:
- Festival ticket: Free access to all the festivals and camp workshops, concerts etc. during your volunteer period at Ängsbacka.
- Access to a volunteer coach, to support your growth in your private life as well as in your work at Ängsbacka.
- Delicious Vegetarian Buffet and Accommodation.
The garden!
Ängsbacka’s gardens have expanded during the last few years and offer more and more home grown goodies to the community living at Ängsbacka and the guests visiting. The new green house has provided with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and herbs. The open field grows organic lettuce, zucchini, fennel, herbs and much more. The permaculture has grown beautifully out of the hands of our amazing gardener Param and now the competent and passionate gardener Helena is planning to use the greenhouse and fields more efficiently next year and will need several assistants to make this happen.
Do you have knowledge and experience in gardening and farming? Are you attending a gardening/agricultural education and the need internship during the spring/summer? There’s plenty to learn here about small-scale and organic vegetable production. Already now we would like to hear from you if you are interested to join us during spring and/or summer 2010. Please contact our gardener Helena Larsson: helenalarsson206@hotmail.com and volunteer coordinators Pyret and Patrik: festivalcamp@angsbacka.se so they can tell you more.
